Characterization of the building:

The guesthouse "Zum Schwanen" which means "to the swan", is one of the traditional buildings of the historical city centre. It is listed in the summary of the historical monuments which are worthy of protection.
Bijan a. Ghassabei has received an honourable award for his work in 1991: Awarded with the bronze badge of Idstein. Because of the exemplary, basic alteration works and restoration of the timbered facade of the building. But not only the alteration works of the whole timber frame building, also the extraordinary successful affiliation of the post-modern new building deserved this award.
